For those who do not know, I am passionate about art. I have taught, learned and immersed myself in art for years. So, why on earth would I want to form a art league?

Every organization has a vision or mission, and it is no less with what I see for "Forward".

Forward is a part of my business to educate, inform and promote art in the community.

For years I have seen young artists and old alike told virtually the same thing "Oh you're and artist? Oh thats nice" or "Oh you are an artist, oh how fun!". Allthough well meant most artists find this very dicouraging. That art is just "Fun", not to be taken seriously, or important.Sure, it has its moments of "Fun" but art takes years of practice, money invested in materials, classes and hours of self marketing with loss and gain.

A professional artist that has an outlet is a happy artist, so many fall to the wayside for lack of information and a vision.

What is my dream? To bring art to the forefront again.Taking away the misconception that art is not valuable in a "Throw away" society.

Training artists that are upcoming that there outlets and a future in applied arts. Fine art is a thing that appeals to the senses and makes a mark on its surroundings that "This is unique" come and stay and see something from a veiw that you never imagined before.

Educating the masses. Lets face it, most people making it day to day never walk into a gallery intentionally. But, with a little insight would know every time they turn on a tv, unlock their car door or read a book or newspaper, they just encountered art. Wether applied art or fine art, it defines a time or place in our lives.

So why Smyrna? Its sandwiched in-between larger cities, and it has a base of art minded people. There are talented teens, admirable adults and superb seniors with excelling art here. I wish to see thier lives enriched, and a experimental exchange in art.

So with that I have decided to move "Forward" in art here in Smyrna.
